Every Christmas for the last 31 years, Eisenhower Elementary students spend the last few weeks before the holiday break collecting goods to donate to families in need. This year, Eisenhower students focused on collecting toys for children. Students were encouraged to donate their new and gently used toys to school, on a specific day, so that they could be collected and donated.
On Wednesday, December 18th, Eisenhower had it’s annual Giving Tree assembly. Dozens of students throughout the school brought their toy donations to the assembly. Student volunteers were on hand to collect the donations and pack them into boxes for distribution.
Eisenhower students were able to donate over 30 boxes filled with toys to several local organizations. JC Naz, Salvation Army, and House of Hope will all use the donations to give presents to local children that might not have otherwise received a gift this Christmas.
Way to go Eagles!
