School Visitor Update– When entering the building please be sure to stand in front of
the buzzer, which is located on the far right of the door. There is a camera that we
need you to stand in front of so we can allow entrance. We are asking that all visitors
to the building obtain a Visitor’s Badge from the office. If we notice you do not have
one, please support us by getting one from the office.

School Parking Information- Please be aware of the entrance and exit of
our parking lot. We have noticed cars entering from the exit side during
drop-off and pick-up, causing a dangerous situation. Additionally, the
driveways of the houses located across the street from the school are not
for parking or to turn-a-round. We appreciate your consideration in these matters.

Daylight Savings Time- The time changes on 11/4/18, so be sure to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on 11/3/18.

Music News-
Kindergarten has been busy finding their singing voices and moving to the beat of music. Ask your student to sing and move to “Rock Candy.” “Fang and Twang” is our song where two puppets greet each other. The 1st grade students have used their solo singing voices to act out this song. The 2nd grade students are rocking their mastery of singing three solfege pitches: la, sol, mi. “Skin and Bones” is the 3rd grade student’s songs with instrument accompaniment. They are learning the difference between major and minor keys. The 4th grade students learned the musical alphabet and pitches of the treble clef. The 5th grade students have learned about concert etiquette. They have chosen the best presentations to use to teach our audience and performers the expectations for formal concert etiquette.
The following are music and physical education program dates:
Grades 4 & 5: December 6, 2018
Grades 2 & 3: March 26, 2019
Grades K & 1: April 11, 2019
All programs begin at 6:30pm

Dental Screening-
Oral health is an important part of a student’s overall health, and is a critical component in his/her ability to learn and succeed in school. USD 475 will provide the opportunity for your student to receive a dental screening at school. A visual inspection of each student’s teeth/mouth will be completed by dental personnel from the Konza Prairie Community Dental Health Clinic. The screening will be at Eisenhower Elementary on Thursday, November 8, 2018. There is no charge. Fluoride varnish application will be offered at the time of the screening. We will send more information home with students the week of the screening.

Body Venture- All students will participate in this giant exhibit on Nov. 7th. The exhibit will be located in the gym where students will learn about the importance of making healthy food choices and being physically active. Volunteers are needed. Please contact the office or Mrs. Priest if you’re interested in volunteering
