BOOK FAIR – “READ ACROSS AMERICA”- Our Spring Book Fair opens Wednesday, March 7th and ends on Thursday, March 15th at 11:00 AM.  It will open each day at 8:00 AM and close at 3:15 PM, except for three special evenings.  In celebration of our family “Read Across America Night” on March 8th, the book fair will be open from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.  On both parent/teacher conference evenings, March 13th and March 14th, the book fair will remain open until 7:30PM. **Please note the students do not have school on March 9th, so the book fair will be closed that date. Your library staff invites you to attend and looks forward to seeing you at the book fair!

PTA CARNIVAL: The Eisenhower PTA is busy planning for our upcoming Carnival scheduled for Friday, April 13th.  We are seeking donations i.e. monetary, gift cards

and raffle items to help cover costs associated with the carnival and to assist in raising funds for our school.  We will partner with as many community businesses as possible.  If you are a business owner, or work for a company who would be willing to donate, please let us know.  There are fun activities planned …raffles..and a concession stand, which also means many volunteers will be needed.  Please contact us if you are willing to volunteer for this fun evening.  Finally our school year is quickly coming to a close, which means we are recruiting parents who would like to serve on our PTA Board for the 2018-2019 school year. If you are interested in helping with he carnival, or would like to be on PTA Board, please contact Amy Harvey at the school.

VALENTINE DANCE CONTEST:   The 2018 Valentine Dance is “in the books” as they say….and here are the results of the dance contest:

Kindergarten – –  Keli’I Martinez, Isabella Cleveland

First grade – – – Angelo Litsey, Reagan Kehoe

Second grade – – Noah Schmutz, Ligaya Guerrieri

Third grade – – – Ramon Quichocho, Jazmyn Booker

Fourth grade – – James Lay, Alyssa Williams

Fifth grade – – – Xzayvier Ocean, Raleigh Lusk

What a fun night it was, and all the students were dressed in their special clothes, ready for this annual Valentine dance.  Congratulations to the dance contest winners, and also to all Eisenhower students for being on their best party behavior.  It was a really special evening.

RED WHEEL FUNDRAISER:  The Red Wheel Pizza Sales began February 27th and will conclude on March 12th.  Your students came home with catalogs and an order form (please remember to collect the money at time of sale). Please note this is no longer just a pizza company…there are pies…cans of nuts…burritos…cookies and of course pizzas. So sell…sell…sell!  This is PTA’s largest fundraiser for the year, and remember we are paying for the carnival along with other PTA projects. Deliverly/pick-up date is Thursday, March 29th at the school.  We ask that parents come after 3:15 to pick up the items so they can deliver them.  All items must be claimed because we do not have freezer space at school to hold items.  Any items not claimed will be sent back to the company. Our PTA appreciates all your support.

CONCERT NEWS:  Mrs. Ballard and Ms. Priest give huge congratulations to all the 2nd and 3rd grade students for your Music and Physical Education Performance!  Your flexibility during rehearsals was much appreciated as we all are learning how to use our new performance space.  Mrs. Ballard says “it was an excellent performance and we are proud of you!”
